About buying from us

What we sell

Letters by PoeticWax, a monthly subscription box. Every box contains a hand-poured soy candle, a poem card, a self-care practice, a small gift and a member’s real-life story. The full description is in our How It Works & Terms. Members can also join our online community and buy tickets to our events in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, which are sold separately.

Price

R595 a month, including courier delivery anywhere in South Africa. No other fees or charges. The price goes up by 10% a year, from the payment on 25 October each year, starting 25 October 2027, with at least 30 days’ notice.

Payment method

Debit or credit card through our payment provider Payfast. First payment when you subscribe, then on the 25th of each month.

Payment security

Payments are processed by Payfast, a PCI DSS-certified payment processor. We don’t receive or store your full card details.

Minimum term

None. The subscription is month to month and can be cancelled at any time.

Delivery

South Africa only. Boxes are dispatched between the 1st and the 7th of each month.

Cooling-off right

You can cancel within 7 days of receiving any box, without reason or penalty, and get a full refund. You pay only the return courier (section 44 of ECTA).

Returns, exchanges and refunds

Your transaction record

Your account page shows every order, payment and tracking number. You receive an email confirmation for each payment and dispatch. You can read our terms on the website at any time.

We are not a member of any self-regulatory body.
